Measures to support Accessibility – MIG Website 

Charles McCarthy Insurances Ltd take the following measures to ensure accessibility of McCarthy Insurance Group website:

 

  • Web address (www.mig.ie) is included on all ‘Terms of Business’ documents (i.e., Non-Life (General Insurance), Financial Services, and Health)   
  • All services provided by the Firm are prominently and individually displayed on the website’s main page 
  • The location, contact details, and opening hours of all 16 Branch offices nationwide are prominently and individually displayed on the website’s main page 
  • Each MIG Branch listed has its own individual E-Mail address displayed (e.g., [email protected]) which provides clients with a viable and easy means of direct access to a local office      

Other measures to support Accessibility

Charles McCarthy Insurances Ltd take the following additional measures to ensure accessibility of services:

 

  • Subject to certain restrictions, an online payment facility in place for Personal Lines transactions meaning clients do not have to visit a MIG Branch office in person to conclude a transaction.    
  • ‘DocuSign’ facility for Financial Services clients is available thus minimising the need for MIG to issue and seek return of relevant documentation to and from clients, via normal postal services, for signature purposes  
  • Insurer policy documents may be downloaded by non-life (General Insurance) clients from the Firm’s website (www.mig.ie), via link provided on MIG Renewal or New Business correspondence   
  • We write for consumers in plain language and have clear design standards for consumer information. We follow the EAA rules that say we must write information to make sure people of all abilities can understand it. We try to avoid using technical terms but where technical terms are used it is because it is required by law.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for Firms that fall under the scope of the European Accessibility Act (‘EAA’) to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. 

 

Charles McCarthy Insurances Ltd is partially conformant. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
