I started as a Receptionist at McCarthy Insurance Group which gave me great knowledge of the insurance industry and the wide range of products and services we offer. With the assistance of Enda Murphy (Financial Services Manager) and the HR department, I began the Qualified Financial Advisor exams. After 9 months working as a Receptionist, the role of Financial Services Administrator became available and I was successful in securing the role. Two years later, I am now a Financial Services Consultant. McCarthy Insurance Group ensures that every opportunity is available for progression in education, training and advancement in your career. I am working in the
South Mall office in Cork, which has over 60 friendly staff, all who share a passion for
insurance and willingness to improve the company.
I am currently completing the Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship and MIG has been
more than accommodating towards this. My supervisor will always put aside time to correct
my work and brainstorm ideas with me for projects.
There is a ‘Sports and Social’ club which allows all staff members to do activities together
such as bowling and treasure hunts. This is a great way for us all to meet up outside of work
time and mingle.
