Travelling with Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
At AllClear, we’ve made it our mission to help anyone with pre-existing medical conditions to get the travel insurance they want and need. We provide cover for thousands of people with medical conditions travelling to relaxing, exciting, weird and wonderful places every year. That is why we have partnered with MIG in Ireland.
We don’t see your age, or your medical conditions as barriers to travelling to your favourite places.
What are pre-existing medical conditions?
Any disease, illness or injury for which you have received medication, advice, or treatment, or you have experienced symptoms. These can include any of the following:
- Heart-related conditions.
- Blood circulatory conditions (e.g. high blood pressure or high cholesterol).
- Diabetic conditions.
- Breathing conditions (e.g. asthma).
- Neurological conditions (e.g. epilepsy or stroke).
- Treatment and conditions related to cancer.
- Conditions related to in-patient hospital treatment or surgery.
We cover any medical condition!
Finding travel insurance when you have pre-existing medical conditions can sometimes appear difficult, but at AllClear we aim to make it as easy for you as possible. Since 2000 we have offered cover for over 1300 different medical conditions in the UK and now it’s available here in Ireland.
How do I choose the best over 70s travel insurance for me?
Choosing which type of policy is best for you is one of the first stages of the quote process. Whether you want a single trip policy, an annual multi-trip policy, a Europe only policy or a Worldwide policy, we can offer all of these so the choice is yours.
As you go through the quote process, you will answer questions about your medical conditions and be shown a range of providers able to offer you cover. You’ll be able to compare quotes all in one place and read the policy wordings for each quote given, meaning you can see in detail what cover you will get.
What’s the difference between a single trip policy and an annual multi-trip policy?
A single trip policy could be more cost effective if you know you’re only travelling once within the year.
If you’re planning to travel multiple times within 12 months, then an annual multi-trip policy may be more cost effective and will save you having to re-purchase travel insurance for a whole year, meaning you can take as many trips as you want providing they start and end in the UK.
We offer no age limits on our AllClear Gold and AllClear Gold Plus policies whether it’s a single trip or an annual multi-trip policy.
Which factors may affect my premium?
As we get older, we may experience more medical conditions than when we were younger. This is one of the reasons why travel insurance may be more expensive when you get to a certain age.
Many factors are considered when your premium is calculated. From medical conditions and age, to destination and trip length.
For our AllClear policies, we’re continually reviewing and analysing all of our claims data to ensure that the premiums we offer are fair and accurate.
